A Milestone Moment in Chainpur, Gadhawa! 🌟

We have exciting news! Creating Possibilities Nepal (CP Nepal) is happy to announce the successful handover of a newly constructed classroom and upgraded toilet facilities at the Higher Secondary School in Chainpur, Gadhawa. 🎉📚🚻

This transformative project, aimed at improving the educational environment, was proudly implemented by CP Nepal with the generous funding and incredible volunteer support from our valued partners at Her International Canadahttps://herinternational.org.

The Journey Begins: Identifying Needs 🔍

The Higher Secondary School, Chainpur had been facing significant challenges for years. Students were forced to study in cramped spaces or even outdoors due to a severe shortage of classrooms. Meanwhile, the deteriorating condition of the school's toilets posed serious health and hygiene concerns, particularly affecting female students' attendance and comfort.

Creating Possibilities Nepal recognized these urgent needs and requested for the funding to HER International Canada to develop a comprehensive solution that would transform the learning environment for hundreds of students.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible HER International volunteer team, who not only funded this initiative but also worked tirelessly alongside local builders for over a week. Their hands-on approach demonstrated true commitment to the community's development.

These amazing volunteers contributed directly to the construction process, working on walls and even pouring the roof of the classroom alongside local workers. The experience created beautiful cultural exchanges and meaningful connections as they shared experiences and laughs while working together. After the volunteer team departed, local workers skillfully completed the remaining construction on schedule.

Special recognition to Kevin Edgecombe, who led the volunteer team with unwavering passion and leadership – thank you for being such an inspiration! The connection formed between the international volunteers and local community members created a beautiful cultural exchange while working toward a common goal.

The project officially commenced on Kartik 7, 2081 (October 2024) and was successfully completed on Baishakh 10, 2082 ( 23 April 2025) – a testament to the dedication of everyone involved.

The Handover Ceremony 🤝

The handover ceremony was a joyous occasion where Mr. Dinesh Raj Sapkota, Executive Director of Creating Possibilities Nepal, officially transferred the responsibility for the new facilities to Mr. Dwarika Prasad Yadav, President of the School Management Committee.

At this ceremony there were following distinguished guests, including:

The project included the construction of a classroom and the renovation of the school's old toilet facilities. The goal was to provide a safe, clean, and inspiring learning environment for the students.

Classroom Construction: Creating Space for Learning 📚

Rather than building two smaller classrooms as initially planned, the team consulted with the School Management Committee and local community and decided to construct one large, spacious classroom. This design choice maximizes flexibility for different teaching approaches and accommodates more students comfortably.

The classroom features:

• Proper ventilation and natural lighting

This new space has already transformed the educational experience for students who previously had to study in uncomfortable and crowded conditions.

Toilet Renovation: Promoting Health and Dignity 🚿

The renovation of toilet facilities addressed a critical need for improved sanitation and hygiene at the school:

• Installation of 5 urinals each for boys and girls

• New toilet pan installation

• Complete tiling of floors and walls

• New water taps and plumbing

• Installation of stand basin

• Water tank installation

• Plastering repairs and fresh paint

• Installation of 3 water taps

• 2 new toilet pans

• 1 new basin

• Complete tiling

These improvements have significantly enhanced the school's sanitation infrastructure, creating a healthier environment and addressing a major barrier to attendance, especially for female students.
